Cause and Effect
A buckeye butterfly's "eyes" protect it from predators by fooling them into thinking it is a much larger creature. This one landed between two large wood knots, which makes one wonder if it was borrowing them as even larger "eyes". The pattern of the wood grain is reminiscent of turbulent air currents and "the butterfly effect".
